Today, I want to address a question asked recently on Facebook:
"Is your sunscreen broad spectrum, protecting against UVA and UVB rays? Has any testing been done regarding protection against long-term sun damage? What does it protect against, and how does it work?"
TLDR
For those of you wanting a quick answer, here is the 'too long didn't read' (TLDR) summary:
✅ YES our products are broad spectrum protecting against UVA and UVB rays
✅ YES our products have been independently SPF and broad spectrum tested meaning they help to protect against long-term sun damage
✅ Our sunscreen protects against both sunburn (caused by UVB rays), premature ageing and long-term skin damage (caused by UVA rays).
✅ Our mineral sunscreen works by absorbing and scattering UV rays before they penetrate the skin, acting like a shield.
Broad Spectrum Protection: What It Means
Firstly, you need to understand that there are two types of UV rays that can damage your skin -
- UVA Rays: These rays penetrate deep into the skin, contributing to premature aging and long-term skin damage. They are also a significant factor in the development of skin cancers.
- UVB Rays: These rays are primarily responsible for sunburn and can directly damage the DNA in your skin cells, which can also lead to skin cancer.
Broad-spectrum sunscreens are designed to protect your skin from both UVA and UVB rays. Our sunscreen is formulated to offer comprehensive protection, shielding your skin from both types of harmful rays.
Has any testing been done on our sunscreen to prove this?
Our sunscreen has been clinically tested to ensure it provides broad-spectrum protection, measuring its effectiveness against UVA and UVB rays.
Sun Protection Factor (SPF)
Our sunscreen is made with non-nano zinc oxide which is a mineral UV filter to provide a powerful shield against the sun:

How to use it
It's important to remember that no sunscreen protects against 100% of rays, so here are some tips to maximise your protection:
- Apply it carefully: Use a sufficient amount to cover all exposed skin. Don’t forget areas like your ears, neck, and the tops of your feet.
- Reapply Regularly: Reapply every two hours, or more often if you’re swimming or sweating.
- Complementary Protection: Wear protective clothing, sunglasses, and hats, and seek shade whenever possible, especially during peak sun hours.
